A sand for a blocking hole of molten metal in a ladle is provided to improve the working safety and the quality of a steel material by including artificial silica sand controlled the content of Al2O3 and SiO2. A sand for a blocking hole of molten metal in a ladle comprises following compositions, artificial silica sand, chromite and a binder are included, the artificial silica sand is 72 ~ 85weight% of SiO2, 10 ~ 18 weight% of Al2O3, 0.1 ~ 1.0 weight% of Fe2O3, 0.2 ~ 0.5 weight% of CaO, and 0.05 ~ 0.2 weight% of K2O, 0.1 ~ 1.0 weight% of Na2O. At this time, the sand for a blocking hole of molten metal in a ladle is included 40 ~60weight% of the artificial silica and 3 ~ 8weight% of the binder about 40 ~ 60weight% of chormite.
