An energy recognition interval cashing method for a disk array based video server is provided to decide interval of a memory cache for switching disks as many as possible. An energy recognition interval cashing method comprises following steps. An interval cue is separately allocated according to cluster(1). According to the interval size cashed to the memory cache, the correlation of the electricity and the disc availability ratio used up is analyzed in each cluster(2). The interval cashed to the memory cache among interval data read in each cluster is determined based on correlation(3). The separate cue is assigned according to each cluster. The interval size is decided in consideration of the power state of each cluster, thereby reducing power consumption of disks.
