METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CHANNEL ASSIGNMENT IN AD-HOC NETWORK

A method for allocating a channel in ad-hoc network and an apparatus therefore are provided to prevent collision of beacon on network and allocate a channel in which collision is minimized whenever a new node is connected on ad-hoc network. Level information of the link sequence information to a second node which is the parent node of the first node in ad-hoc network is acquired. The standard value for the channel setup is determined by using an address and the level value of the first node based on the linked sequential information and level information. The standard value is divided into the number of maximum available channels on network and the channel value of the first node is determined(406). In case of determining the standard value for channel setup, a value summing the level information and linked sequential information and a value multiplying the address value of the first node and level value are determined as a standard value.
