A noise reducing device having an edge enhancing function and a method thereof are provided to enhance an edge while reducing noise of an input image, thereby preventing that the edge gets unclear. A window setting unit(110) sets a portion of an input image as a window. The window comprises a central pixel located in the center of the window and an adjacent pixel which is included in the window but not the central pixel. An edge information detecting unit(120) detects edge information which can be included in the window. The edge information can be maximum gradient, signal to noise ratio, or standard deviation.
