摘要 A lower power image sensor capable of motion detection and a motion detection method using the same are provided to reduce the number of devices for processing unit pixel information of the image sensor and outputs information about a pixel as a 1 bit digital signal. A pixel array(110) has pixels in a matrix form. The pixels sense light from an object, and output the sensed light as an electric signal. A column selection unit(120) selects an electric signal of each pixel, outputted from the pixel array, in a column unit. An analog voltage comparing unit(130) respectively compares output voltage per each pixel of the electric signal, selected by the column selection unit, with predetermined reference voltage and performs quantization into digital data of 1 bit per pixel. A temporary storage(230) stores "1" or "0" the quantized data. A digital comparing unit(220) compares a current frame with a previous frame stored in the temporary storage, and counts the number of "1" or "0" included in the comparison result data. The digital comparing unit compares the counted number with a preset reference value to determine motion of the object. A sensor controller(240) generates a flow selection signal of data and a control signal for controlling a function block of an image sensor(10).
