Novel title cpds. have formulae:- (where Ar = benzene or naphthalene Q, Q1 = alkyl, phenylalkyl, alkoxy, phenylalkoxy, phenoxy, phenyl, dialkylamino, alkanoylamino, trihalomethyl, trifluoromethoxy, halo, hydroxy Q2Q3 = Q with the exception of alkanoylamino Z, Z1 = alkylthio, alkylsulphinyl, alkylsulphonyl, nitro, amino Z2, Z3 = alkylthio m = 0 to 3-n p = 0 to 3-g n, g = 0 or 1; R, R3 = H, alkyl, 4-acetamidophenyl, alkanoyloxymethyl, benzoyloxymethyl (opt. substd. on the phenyl ring by one or two alkyl, alkoxy, halo gps) R1, R2 = H, methyl (at least one must be H), R4 = H, methyl or (Q)m and (Z)n; (Q1)p and (Z1)g, (Q2)m and (Z2)n, (Q3)p and (Z3)g may be methylenedioxy joined to adjacent C atoms).
