1293483 Orgotein DIAGNOSTIC DATA Inc 8 Jan 1971 [16 Jan 1970 (2)] 1050/71 Heading C3H Pure orgotein (compact, water-soluble, non- toxic, substantially non-antigenic, anti-inflammatory protein in the form of a metal chelate with a divalent metal) has an extraneous protein content and silicon content of substantially nil and a UV absorbance (A<SP>1</SP> 280 %) of 2À3Œ0À2. Crude orgotein-containing material may be purified by conventional methods until the only remaining impurities are extraneous proteins and the latter then removed either by chromatography or by heating in buffer solution in presence of a salt of a divalent metal of ionic radius 0À6 to 1À0Š. The source of the crude material may be animal liver. |
