The invention provides a drive mechanism (10) for a wiper blade that comprises: a support base (12); a drive motor (14) comprising a casing (16) and a shaft (18) having a horizontal main axis (A); means for rotationally guiding the drive shaft (18) about the horizontal axis (A), comprising a first bearing (24) for guiding the shaft (18) with respect to the base (12) and a second (26) for guiding the shaft (18) with respect to the casing (16), characterized in that the guide means comprise a third bearing (32) so as to enable the shaft (18) to be guided, and hence positioned, when mounting the motor (14) on the base (12), said third bearing not being in contact with the shaft (18) when the motor (14) is mounted on the base (12). The invention also provides a method of assembling such a drive mechanism (10). |
