The device has a percussion electro mechanism (23) comprising a spring (2) for exerting axial effort on a striker (1). A locking finger (4) locks the striker in position. An electro-magnet (8) displaces the locking finger for releasing the striker. The striker has a cylindrical portion (1b) movable in translation in a bore (20) for constituting a piston. The spring and portion are dimensioned such that force exerted by the spring is less than force resulting from combustion gas pressure applied on the portion.
