摘要 <p>The method involves fixing transponders (Tr) on an outer wall of a hollow structure e.g. pipeline (PL) at regular intervals, where each transponder has a magnet to confer a magnetic print. A movable device (RTE) with a magnetic sensor (2) e.g. magnetometer, is introduced in the structure, where the sensor detects and analyzes the print. Magnetic field associated to the transponder is detected by the sensor, and is analyzed. The print is determined, and the transponder associated to the print is identified. Position of the device is determined by referring to the position of the transponder. An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing a method for optimizing the precision of the location of a device moving in a hollow structure, comprising a magnetic sensor.</p>
