The device (1) has two arms (A, B) extended at front of a backrest (3) of a seat (2), while being laterally spaced from one another. The arms limit a lateral displacement of a body of a passenger seated on the seat. The arms are pivoted with respect to each other between a deployed or utilization position, in which the arms are laterally spaced, and a limited space position in which the arms are folded one towards the other. The arms are pivoted around a swivel axis which is oriented vertically when the device is mounted on the backrest of the seat.
