PROCEDURE FOR POSITION DETECTION OF A MOBILE UNIT ON MAP

The procedure according to the invention solves the problem of defining the position of a mobile unit on map while the specified map preferably serves for spatial navigation of the mobile unit. The problem is solved in such a way that the position of the mobile unit on a map is determined in such a way that the position of the mobile unit is assigned to the closest point on the map where one of the corridors which the mobile unit can move along is located and at the same time meets the criteria that the difference between the angle (direction) of movement of the mobile unit in a new point and angle (direction) of the moving the mobile unit in the previous point on the map does not exceed the maximum permitted change of angle (direction) of the movements of the mobile unit. The point which meets both criteria is accepted as the current position of the mobile unit on the map.
