An air belt device for a vehicle, where, in a collision, an inflation section is inflated to an upper position facing occupant's temporal section. A shoulder section of a seatback (26) of a vehicle seat (12) has cross-sectional shape restriction means (22). An occupant restraining webbing (16) is inserted through the restriction means (22), and the webbing (16) has an inflation section (18) corresponding to the head (14H) of the occupant (14) when inflated. When the inflation section (18) is inflated, the restriction means (22) restricts the cross-sectional shape of the inflation section (18) to a vertically long shape. In a side collision, the inflation shape of the inflation section (18) is restricted by the restriction means (22) to cause the inflation section (18) to be inflated to an upper position facing the temporal section (14S) of the occupant (14). As a result, inertia force, in the vehicle lateral direction, of the head (14H) can be absorbed by the inflation section (18).
