Provided is a mammalian cell culture medium comprising: (i) at least one insulin-like growth factor IGF-I or IGF-II, (ii) vitronectin or an integrin receptor-binding fragment thereof, (iii) an absence of serum or an amount of serum which in the absence of said at least an IGF would not support cell growth. Further provided are methods of cell culture using the said medium and use of additional insulin-like growth factor binding proteins (IGFBP) in the medium. Also provided is a method of producing a pharmaceutical composition for aerosol delivery of keratinocytes using the said culture medium.
