<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of restraining the deterioration of the electrifying property and fluidity of toner in the developing device, and an image forming apparatus capable of obtaining a high-quality image over a long term by using the developing device. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device 30 where a developing unit 31 to develop a latent image on a photoreceptor belt 10 with toner and a toner cartridge 32 to replenish the developing unit 32 with the toner are arranged in a lateral direction, and to/from which the toner cartridge 32 is freely attached/detached is provided with a communication port 33 through which the toner is made to pass between the toner cartridge 32 and the developing unit 32, and a control valve 34 which controls the amount of the passing toner. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
