PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver by which a noticing degree of a video viewer to a screen under display on a video display part is exactly understood and proper control is performed based on the noticing degree. SOLUTION: A control circuit 8 detects a face of the video viewer and its direction based on image information obtained by a camera 12 which images the front of the video display part 21 and detects the noticing degree of the video viewer to each of one or more screens displayed on the video display part 21 based on detection results. Furthermore, the control circuit 8 switches sound corresponding to which of the plurality of screens at a multi-screen state is output based on the noticing degree, transits a state to a power saving state when the latest noticing degree is less than a predetermined level, records noticing degree record information regarding the noticing degree by associating it with program information and controls display modes of the program information based on the recording information.
