PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable apparatus that prevents a malfunction due to a hit command. SOLUTION: The portable apparatus is provided with a gyro sensor 53 for detecting an impact of the apparatus, a data processing means 54 for acquiring characteristic data from an output of the gyro sensor, a storing means for storing a command interpretation information 56 showing a correspondence relation between characteristic data and a command for operating the apparatus, an operation control means 55 for recognizing a command that corresponds to the characteristic data acquired by the data processing means 54 and controlling the apparatus, a temperature measuring device 22 fixed to an earphone 14 and the like connected to the portable apparatus, a monitoring means 60 for monitoring an output of the temperature measuring device 22, and a function limiting means for shifting from an on-mode for enabling the function of a main circuit of the portable apparatus to an off-mode for disabling the function of the main circuit after a standby time elapses when a transition pattern in which temperature detected by the monitoring means 60 changes from the inside of a prescribed temperature area to the outside of the area is detected.
