PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small, thin and light-weight communication system which can be applied to wearable equipment. SOLUTION: The communication system is mainly provided with a transmission medium 2, a transmitter 1 for applying an electric field obtained by modulating an information signal to the transmission medium 2 and receiver 3 for detecting the electric field through the transmission medium 2 and demodulating the electric field to the information signal. The receiver 3 comprises a receiving electrode 31 for receiving an electric field from the transmission medium 2, a sensor 32 connected to the receiving electrode 31 and a signal detection circuit 33 connected to the sensor 32. The sensor 32 comprises a sensor electrode 323 electrically connected to the receiving electrode 31 and a wound coil 324, and the sensor electrode 323 is arranged close to a screw axis of the coil 324 in parallel.
