PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving device which detects a connection state of a connector, the connector which detects its connection state and a notification method of giving notice of the detection result. SOLUTION: When a plug 2 is connected to a receptacle 1 and a core wire 22 is inserted, only a clamping piece 17a is spread since a clamping piece 17b is fixed by a conductor fixing portion 15, and the core wire 22 is clamped by the clamping pieces 17a and 17b. Thus, the clamping piece 17a is spread, and one end of a movable insulating piece 13, which is in contact with the clamp piece 17a, is pressed and rotates about an insulating fixation shaft 16 as a supporting point.
