The invention is directed to a method of providing pain relief to a patient by administering to the patient an effective amount of a compound of Formula (I), which is represented by as RC(O)-NH-(CH<SUB>2</SUB>)<SUB>n</SUB>-CH-CH<SUB>2</SUB>, wherein R represents C<SUB>1-20 </SUB>alkyl, C<SUB>2-20 </SUB>alkenyl or C<SUB>2-20 </SUB>alkynyl; and n is an integer from 0 to 3.
