<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability of a process cartridge and of an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The process cartridge has a drum unit 8 and a developing unit 9 which are connected in a swinging fashion, where the swinging center 62 of the developing unit 9 is disposed within the shorter length L3 of a sealing member 43. This stabilizes the position of the developing unit 9, when the sealing member 43 is detached, thus improving the operability. In addition, in the image forming apparatus in which the sealing member 43 can be detached, while the process cartridge connecting the drum unit 8 and developing unit 9 swingably is kept attached in a swinging fashion, the swinging center 62 of the developing unit 9 is disposed within the shorter length L3 of the sealing member 43.
