PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pattern layout method for a liquid crystal panel which improves design efficiency and suppresses a data size. SOLUTION: In a created new library, a block is created which is identical to a block for a previously stored library for an array substrate. In the block of the new library, a hierarchy is added which is identical to a hierarchy of the library of the array substrate. In the new library, pattern data of the previously stored library for the array substrate is not included, and the new library becomes another library having the same hierarchy as that of the library for the array substrate. By creating a CF pattern in a block of the new library while referring to the pattern data of the library for the array substrate, pattern data of the previously stored library for the array substrate is not wrongly edited, design efficiency can be improved and the data size of the new library can be suppressed.
