PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling roll capable of uniformly cooling the entire roll. SOLUTION: A rotating shaft of a vertically-long roll 1 is vertically arranged. A cooling fluid supply pipe 2 and a fluid discharge pipe 4 are respectively connected with the roll 1. A cooling fluid injection portion 12 communicated with the cooling fluid supply pipe 2, and an ejector 5 are provided inside of the roll 1. The fluid discharge pipe 4 is connected with a tank 7. The cooling fluid supplied from the cooling fluid injection portion 12 spreads over the entire inner peripheral face of the roll 1, thus the entire roll 1 can be uniformly cooled.
