<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an inner circumference or a conductive member thereon from being scratched off when a terminal is inserted into a through-hole, reduce a stress applied to a board, and reduce the number of components. <P>SOLUTION: The terminal 3 inserted into a through-hole 11 of a board 1 from an insertion end and electrically connected to the board 1 includes a body 31 in a cylindrical shape; a first retaining portion 32 outwardly extending to a Y direction from the body 31 so as to be elastically deformable in a perpendicular direction Y relative to an axial direction X of the body 31 and contacting a surface 12 of the board 1; and a second retaining portion 33 positioned at a counter-insertion end side relative to the first retaining portion 32, protruding from the body 31 to an outwardly perpendicular direction Y and contacting a boundary between the through-hole 11 and a surface 13, which is an opposite surface of the surface 12. When the terminal 3 is inserted into the through-hole 11, the first retaining portions 32 are elastically inwardly deformed in the perpendicular direction Y, and then, the terminal 3 proceeds through the through-hole 11. The first retaining portions 32 are outwardly spread in the perpendicular direction Y by its resilience after passing through the through-hole 11.
