PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery type light source device for a portable type endoscope which hardly rolls when being removed from the main body of the portable type endoscope. SOLUTION: The portable type endoscope is equipped with the light source device 10 having a battery 11 and an illuminating part 13 emitting light by power supply by the battery 11 and the main body of the portable endoscope where the light source device 10 is attached and detached and which emits light to an observation region by guiding light from the illuminating part 13 and guides light in a manner to enable the observation of reflected light of the light emitted to the observation site through eyepieces. The light source 10 is configured to be heavier on the side having the battery 11 compared to the opposite side of the side with the battery 11 as viewed from the direction of the optical axis of the illuminating part 13, and the center of gravity is biased to the side having the battery 11.
