The invention relates to a method for facilitating the draught of a cold chimney and to a device for implementing same, in which an electrically operated mobile element (1) is provisionally installed in the hearth (2) of the chimney when the chimney is cold and said element (1) is used to provide a stream of hot air (3) in order to heat the flue before the fire is lit with firewood.
