<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a color filter for providing the color filter securing a fixed liquid crystal thickness and obtaining fixed picture quality, and to provide the color filter and a liquid crystal element obtained therewith. <P>SOLUTION: The method for forming the color filter includes: a step of superposing four kinds of laser thermal transfer sheets each having at least a thermo-optical conversion layer and a red (R), green (G), blue (B) or black (K) picture forming layer on a supporting body on a picture receiving sheet so as to form pictures composed of R, G, B and K by radiating laser light to the superposed sheets in a shape of a picture from the laser thermal transfer sheets side and by transferring the picture forming layer on the picture receiving sheet; and a step of superposing a surface of the picture receiving sheet on a laser thermal transfer sheet with a resin layer so as to form spacers by radiating laser light to the superposed sheets in a shape of a picture from the thermal transfer sheet side and by transferring the resin layer on the pictures.
