PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a sheet-like material or a web from sticking to a varnish feeding cylinder after the emergency stop of a main machine in a liquid transferring device. SOLUTION: Under the condition that the varnish fed from an anilox roller 23 to an upper plate cylinder 21 is transferred to the upper rubber cylinder 25, resulting in being coated on the front surface of paper passing through a rubber impression cylinder 26 and the upper rubber cylinder 25 while the varnish fed from an anilox roller 30 to a lower rubber cylinder 28 is transferred to the rubber impression cylinder 26, resulting in coating the rear surface of the paper by the printing pressure of the upper rubber cylinder 25. After an emergency stop, varnish viscosity lowering agent 53 jetted from upper and lower sprays 52A and 52B over the respective peripheral surfaces of the upper plate cylinder 21 and of the rubber impression cylinder 26 until coating starts.
