PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide door structure of an automobile for restricting movement of a handle base fitting portion toward an arm insert hole, while maintaining fitting property of a handle base. SOLUTION: Door structure of an automobile comprises a handle knob 15 outside a door outer panel 88, the handle base 16 provided inside the door to pivotally support the handle knob 15 freely to swing and to be fitted to the outer panel 8. The outer panel 8 is formed with an arm insert hole for the handle knob 15 and a handle base fitting hole smaller than the arm insert hole and continued to the arm insert hole. The handle base 16 is provided with a regulating portion 32d for abutting on a door member 6 having rigidity higher than that of the outer panel 8 so as to regulate the movement of the handle base 16 fitting portion toward the arm insert hole.
