PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device with less noise. SOLUTION: The electric power steering device has a gear row in which parallel axis gear mechanisms as speed-reducer for speed-reducing output rotation of an electric motor are engaged in a plurality of stages. Tooth thickness t1, t2 of teeth 211, 231 of a drive gear 21 and a first intermediate gear 23 engaged with each other of the gear row are gradually increased regarding reversely directed directions X1, X2 in a tooth trace direction. An elastic member gives urging force along one direction A1 in an axial direction of the intermediate shaft relative to an intermediate shaft unit U1 including the first intermediate gear 23. With a tooth groove 212 of one gear, the tooth 231 of the other gear is engaged in a wedge-like shape regarding the tooth trace direction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
