PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an offset printer using a fixing member or a transfer member that improves transfer of an image to be printed from an intermediate member to a medium. SOLUTION: The offset printer includes a rotating image member, which receives colorant from a printhead 210 to form an image on its surface, a motor for rotating the rotating image member at a first surface speed, a fixing member 208 that transfers an image from an intermediate printing member to a medium while being movable from a first position, in which the fixing member 208 does not form a roll gap with the intermediate printing member, to a second position, in which the fixing member forms a roll gap with the intermediate printing member, and a rotation transmission link 226 for coupling the fixing member 208 at the first position to rotation of the rotating image member so that the fixing member 208 is rotated at a second surface speed that corresponds to the first surface speed and the fixing member 208 forms a roll gap with the rotating image member rotated at the first surface speed before the fixing member 208 is moved to the second position.
