PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect azimuth ambiguity in image data. SOLUTION: This ambiguity processing device 10 assumes a target (prescribed range) in the image data of a synthetic aperture radar to be the azimuth ambiguity, assumes a position (distance) where the target azimuth ambiguity is generated, and generates an azimuth compression reference function based on the assumed position, to thereby perform azimuth compression (compression processing). When an amplitude of the target of the image data acquired as a result of the azimuth compression is higher than a prescribed value, it is determined that the target is azimuth ambiguity generated on the assumed position (determination processing). The device 10 repeats the compression processing and the determination processing, while changing the assumed position. It is determined whether the target is azimuth ambiguity or not by performing the compression processing and the determination processing relative to every position where the azimuth ambiguity may be generated.
