The invention is aimed at producing aromatic carbonate by reactive distillation system using a continuous multistage distillation column from a dialkyl carbonate and an aromatic monohydroxy compound in a process providing producing the aromatic carbonate stably over a long period of time on a commercial scale of not less than one ton per hr, with effective withdrawing by-produced alcohol. The production process can overcome drawbacks of the prior art that, despite a number of proposals on production processes of aromatic carbonates by a reaction distillation method, all the conventional proposed production processes are for production on a small scale for a short period of time, i.e., on an experimental scale, and there have been no disclosure of any specific method and apparatus providing a great amount of the by-produced alcohol in producing aromatic carbonate on an industrial scale stably over a long period of time, using a continuous multistage distillation column. According to the present invention there proposed a continuous multi-stage distillation column A and continuous multi-stage distillation column B, which are specially designed and a special method in which said continuous multi-stage distillation columns are combined together which provides aromatic carbonate produced stably over a long period of time on a commercial scale of not less than one ton per hr with effective withdrawing by-produced alcohol on a commercial scale at least 200 kg per hr. |
