PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key storage device which enables a key to be easily stored and taken out. SOLUTION: A key K to be stored is stored in a key storage case 2 embedded with a wireless IC tag 3. A storage part 5 has a plurality of storage chambers 7 leading to a put-in port 4a and stores key storage cases 2 in empty storage chambers 7 in the descending order of the distance from the put-in port 4a. The tag information obtaining part 8 of each storage chamber 7 obtains tag information from the wireless IC tag 3 of the stored key storage cases 2. The data indicating the corresponding relation of the tag information obtained by the tag information obtaining part 8 and the storage chamber 7 storing the key storage case 2 in which the tag information is obtained is stored in a memory part 11. A control part 12 determines the storage chamber 7 of the key storage case 2 of the key K to be specified by input information from the data of the memory part 11 and controls the case support/discharge mechanism 9 of the storage chamber 7 to discharge an appropriate key storage case 2 from the storage chamber 7.
