MONITOR APPARATUS, LIGHT SOURCE DEVICE, OPTICAL SCANNING UNIT AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an adverse effect on the light emitting characteristic of a light source without incurring a high cost. SOLUTION: A monitor apparatus has: an aperture plate 23 which branches a portion of light emitted from a two-dimensional array 100 of the light source 14 as monitoring light; an imaging lens 24 which condenses the monitoring light branched by the aperture plate 23; and a photodiode 25 of which the light receiving face is arranged either at the front side or the back side of the light condensing position in the advancing direction of the monitoring light passing through the imaging lens 24. Thus, the reflected monitoring light returning to the light source side becomes divergent light. Therefore, the reflected monitoring light returning to the two-dimensional array 100 has a small light intensity and it does not result in an instable laser oscillation, the generation of noise or the reduction in laser output at the respective light emitting parts.
