A dispensing device for paper in roll comprises a casing consisting of a base (1) and a cover (2), hinged at the bottom thereof and provided with a bottom opening as paper outlet, as well as a mechanism for the automatic replacement of the first roll (R1) with a spare roll (R"), said mechanism including a follower (3) pivoted on the base (1) between the two rolls (R', R") and provided with a side wing (3 a) for a temporary support during the closing movement of the cover (2) by means of a corresponding projection (7) formed on an internal side of the latter. Thanks to this structure, the device can use both rolls with cylindrical core (full or broken) and coreless rolls, it performs automatically the replacement of the finished roll with the spare roll and the roll in use is consumed completely even in case the spare roll is restored prior to the exhaustion of the paper.
