An LCD device and a method for fabricating the same are provided to prevent a spacer from moving to a pixel region by forming a partition on the first substrate or on the second substrate. An LCD device comprises a first substrate, a second substrate, a spacer(300) between the first and the second substrates, and partition(290) for fixing the spacer. An LCD fabricating method comprises steps of: forming the first substrate; forming the second substrate; forming partition on one of both the first and the second substrates; and placing a spacer in the partition. The LCD implements the high aperture ration by preventing the movement of the spacer.
