<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for rightly decoding coded data in regions divided in various shapes. <P>SOLUTION: A moving image decoding apparatus comprises a bit stream analysis section 43 for converting an inputted coded bit stream 11 from a bit stream into coded data; a region shape decoding section 44 for decoding region shape information of regions included in coded data and specifying coordinates of top-most vertices in respective regions; a motion information decoding section 47 for decoding motion parameters corresponding to the regions determined based on the specified coordinates of the top-most vertices; a motion compensating section 49 for performing motion compensation prediction based on the decoded motion parameters and generating a predictive image from a reference image; and an image data decoding section 46 for decoding image data in the respective regions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
