PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus which can stably feed an ink into an ink storage section by accurately sensing the variation of the liquid surface by the consumption of the ink in the ink storage section when the recording motion is performed by moving an inkjet head on which the ink storage section is installed. SOLUTION: In the inkjet head 1, the ink storage section 20 is formed, and the external surface is fitter with a communication tube 17 which makes the upper end section communicate with a gas region A, and the lower end section communicates with an ink region B. Then, the communication tube 17 contains a liquid surface of the same height as the ink liquid surface in the ink storage section 20. The communication tube 17 has a cylindrical shape consisting of a transparent or semi-transparent material. By liquid-surface-sensing its liquid surface position from the outside, the falling of the ink liquid surface accompanying the ink consumption is sensed, and the ink feeding is performed.
