PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crawler type traveling device capable of absorbing interference with a projected article when the crawler type traveling device rides-on the projected article and a pushed-up force is applied from a lower side to a derailing prevention guide by the projected article. SOLUTION: When a ground-contact portion of a crawler 6 is pushed up from a lower side, the derailing prevention guide 9 is movably supported on a truck frame 2 such that the derailing prevention guide 9 is moved in an escaping direction by the pushing up force. An elastic means 16 for retaining the derailing prevention guide 9 to the usual state is provided between the derailing prevention guide 9 and the truck frame 2 such that the derailing prevention guide 9 is moved by the pushing up force in resistant to the elastic force.
