PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection device for a moving object passing through a side of a vehicle for detecting a moving object passing through the side of a vehicle on a road at, for example, an intersection or the like. SOLUTION: Four corner sensors in total, that is, corner sensors 4 to 7 are mounted at the front right and left positions and rear right and left positions of a body in a vehicle 1. When a motorcycle 12 is detected by the corner sensor 5 at the front left position instead of the corner sensor 4 during a fixed time since the motorcycle 12 is detected by the corner sensor 4 at the rear left position, it is decided that the motorcycle may slip through the left side of the car body. When recognizing the existence of the motorcycle 12 traveling slipping through the both sides of the vehicle, the vehicle 1 informs a driver or a passenger of the result by a display unit or speaker for slip warning, and makes the driver perform a driving operation paying attention to the motorcycle 12.
