Monocyclic aminopropyl tetrahydro-pyrazolo-pyridine compounds of formula (I) are described, which are useful as cathepsin S modulators. Such compounds may be used in pharmaceutical compositions and methods for the treatment of disease states, disorders, and conditions mediated by cathepsin S activity, such as psoriasis, pain, multiple sclerosis, atherosclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis. Formula (I), wherein: R<SUP>1</SUP> and R<SUP>2</SUP> taken together with the nitrogen to which they are attached form a monocyclic heterocycloalkyl group; wherein: R<SUP>1</SUP> and R<SUP>2</SUP> taken together with the nitrogen to which they are attached form a monocyclic heterocycloalkyl group, optionally containing one additional heteroatom ring member that is O, S, SO<SUB>2</SUB>, or NR<SUP>a</SUP>, and being unsubstituted or substituted with one, two, or three R<SUP>b</SUP> substituents; and wherein R<SUP>3</SUP>-R<SUP>8</SUP>, R<SUP>a</SUP>, R<SUP>b</SUP> and n are as defined herein.
