PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a masking agent masking unpleasant taste such as bitterness, and to provide an oral composition with masked such unpleasant taste. SOLUTION: The masking agent for unpleasant taste comprises, as an active ingredient, magnesium aluminum silicate or a mineral based thereon. The oral composition comprises substance(s) causing unpleasant taste and such an amount of magnesium aluminum silicate or a mineral based thereon as to be effective for masking the unpleasant taste.
