PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To present even contents of an animation so that a user can intuitively recognize the contents in a viewing style of a calendar format. SOLUTION: The user designates a method for extracting a representative image from the animation, such as a fixed time interval or a highlighted scene. Not only the head of the animation but also thumbnails of a plurality of frames in the animation are developed time sequentially in an image list display picture in a calendar format. When the user selects an optional thumbnail, playback processing is started from the position of the thumbnail of the animation. The thumbnails in the animation are displayed in a list while the animation is played, and the user can selects an optional thumbnail to seek the animation during being played.
