The present invention relates to a cooking appliance (1) comprising a door handle (5) that provides a hygienic and safe usage. Hot air is guided from the oven cavity (2) to the ambient through a channel (8) and a chamber (11). The chamber is located inside of a connection element (7) which connects the gripping position (6) of the door handle (5) to the door (4). Humidity in the air is condensed in the chamber and the condensed water is collected in a reservoir (12).
