<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve more appropriate focus adjustment by using both manual focusing and autofocusing. <P>SOLUTION: In an autofocusing method for adjusting the focusing position by using an evaluation result obtained by processing the object image, the evaluation value is periodically calculated by obtaining the high frequency components of the image signals in two or more areas in the image picked up by an imaging section. Meanwhile, the stop of focus ring movement is detected based on a detection signal obtained from a detection means which detects focus ring movement manually. By obtaining the evaluation value right before the focus ring stops in two or more areas in the above image, the area where the change of the evaluation value right before the focus ring stops shows the predetermined history is selected as the focusing target area. The focusing position for the selected image is adjusted by search operation for peak of the evaluation value and the final focus squeezing is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
