1379924 Knitting machines NORTH AMERICAN ROCKWELL CORP 16 March 1972 [30 April 1971] 12203/72 Heading D1C [Also in Division G3] A selector system for use with a rotary knitting machine comprises a slot sensor 10, Fig. 1, mounted near a needle cylinder 22 of the machine. A square-wave signal from the sensor, representive of the speed of the cylinder, is used to trigger a timed pulse generator 12 developing two trains of pulse-pairs, spaced by a half-cycle, and having a fixed time interval between pulses in a pair. The two pulse trains are applied to a driver logic circuit 18, and similar circuits, which serve to provide in dependence on pattern commands from a computer, not shown, a timed sequence of pulses to a power circuit 20 for energising three electromagnets, not shown, of a jack actuator 16 so as to interrupt the normal operation of the associated pattern jack. The driver logic circuit 18, Fig. 6, comprises J-K flip-flops 80, 82 84, the first of which is enabled by a computer command and the subsequent ones by the pulse trains A', B', A, B, to provide the timed pulse sequences to the power circuit 18, Fig. 1. |
