PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent illegal service by arranging an auxiliary game as to shift a variable prize winning device to the open state responding to the winning of the starter slot in a game machine which generates a special game state when game balls entering the variable prize winning device wins a special prize winning slot. SOLUTION: A variable prize winning device 80 is provided with a storage device 160 which is made shiftable to the storage state of enabling the storage of the game balls or to the storage released state of enabling the discharge of the game balls stored. A game controller 30 is also provided with a storage releasing means (game controller 30) which is so arranged as to shift the storage device 160 once to the storage released state and then, returns it back to the storage state during a period before the shift of mobile members 87 and 87 to the open state after the establishment of starting requirements in the auxiliary game.
