PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an incubator for microscopic observation, which suppresses a cost, is compact and lightweight, reduces a size projecting from the surface of a stage so as to correspond to the short focal distance of a condenser, is mounted on an electric stage finely acting in such a manner to have a weight restriction and does not cause dew condensation inside. SOLUTION: Water in a water tank 16 and cells C in a dish D are heated by commonly using one heater 25. Accordingly, one heater is reduced in comparison with a conventional incubator for microscopic observation and a cost is suppressed. The incubator 1 for microscopic observation is compacted and lightened. Especially, since a size T2 projecting from the surface of the stage is reduced, the incubator corresponds to the short focal distance of a condenser. Further the incubator 1 for microscopic observation is significantly lightened and, as a result, the incubator is mounted on the electric stage finely acting in such a manner as to have a weight restriction.
