<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nano wire grid polarizer and a liquid crystal display device adopting the same. <P>SOLUTION: A nano wire grid polarizer 100 transmits first polarized light and reflects second polarized light for the incident light in the visible light region. It is provided with a dielectric layer and a plurality of nano wire array layers 121, 122, 123 and 124 in which nano wires are separated parallel to one another and ordered periodically inside of the dielectric layer.
